Good Morning,

Not a huge surprise: Michael Block has been named the PGA Professional Player of the Year for 2023 after a successful season, including a hole-in-one at the PGA Championship. Block's win was considered a lock due to his impressive performances throughout the year. Stephanie Connelly-Eiswerth and Bob Sowards also received awards in their respective divisions.

Musings: Is there a possibility of a men's professional World Tour in golf, you ask? The idea proposed by Rory McIlroy (aka Rory’s “Dream”) includes a hypothetical schedule for such a tour, including events in different countries and rotating venues. Interesting for sure, but one has to consider the uncertainty in the golfing landscape due to the emergence of new circuits like LIV Golf and potential mergers with existing tours. While the feasibility of a World Tour is uncertain, like golf itself, anything is possible.

“I was like, ‘Well, I’m going to Honolulu to play so I can do Maui. (Roy’s) like, ‘Alright, perfect. I’ll see you there.’ I was like, what? Next day I know I’m talking to a guy about a contract.”
