As we gear up for the 3M Open, the golf world is buzzing with excitement and anticipation. The FedExCup standings are heating up with several key races: the top 70 qualifying for the playoffs, the top 50 securing spots in next year's signature events, the top 30 making it to the Tour Championship, and the top 125 maintaining full Tour membership. Notably, there's a 34% turnover in the top 50 from last season, with 17 new faces emerging. Only one Korn Ferry Tour graduate is currently in the top 70, while 13 out of 35 KFT/Q-School guys are poised to keep their cards if the season ended now. The 3M Open features 14 players currently in the top 50, along with nine from last season’s top 50 who are fighting to regain their spots.

3M Open - PGA - TPC Twin Cities - Blaine, MN
The 2024 3M Open, Minnesota's only PGA TOUR event, is set to take place beginning Thursday.
The sixth edition at TPC Twin Cities features players such as Sahith Theegala, 2022 champion Tony Finau, Keegan Bradley, Akshay Bhatia, Sam Burns, Cam Davis, Nick Dunlap and recent Open Championship runner-ups Justin Rose and Billy Horschel, who both move up from outside the top-60 in the world rankings to top-35 with Horschel also top 30 in the FedExCup standings. The tournament will follow a traditional four-round format, with Round 1 beginning on Thursday, July 25, and the final Round 4 on Sunday, July 28.
CPKC Women’s Open - LPGA - Earl Grey Golf Club - Calgary, AB
The 2024 CPKC Women's Open, a prestigious LPGA Tour event, is set to take place from July 23-28 at the historic Earl Grey Golf Club in Calgary, Alberta. This marks the 50th playing of Canada's National Open Championship and the first time Earl Grey Golf Club will host the stars of the LPGA Tour.
The tournament's return to Calgary is significant, as it will be the 7th time the province of Alberta has hosted Canada's National Women's Open Championship and the first since 2016. Earl Grey Golf Club, founded in 1919 and situated overlooking the picturesque Glenmore Reservoir since 1932, is a world-class championship facility in the heart of Calgary.
The CPKC Women's Open has been recognized for its excellence, receiving the Tournament of the Year award from the Tournament Partners of the LPGA in 2022. Golf Canada and CP have also received Gold Driver Awards for Best Sponsor Activation and Best Community and Charity Engagement in recent years.
The tournament is expected to feature one of the strongest fields on the LPGA Tour, competing for a total purse of $2.35 million USD.
LIV Golf United Kingdom - JCB Golf and Country Club - England, Great Britain
The LIV Golf UK tournament will be held from July 26-28, 2024, at the JCB Golf & Country Club near Uttoxeter, England. This event marks the beginning of a multi-year partnership between LIV Golf and JCB, a leading equipment manufacturer. The course, designed by Robin Hiseman, is known for its rolling fields, island greens, and the ruins of a stately home, offering a challenging and picturesque setting for the competition.
The tournament will feature 13 elite teams, including local favorites such as Tyrrell Hatton, Ian Poulter, and Lee Westwood, as well as international stars like Brooks Koepka, Sergio Garcia, Bryson DeChambeau, and Phil Mickelson. The Senior Open presented by Rolex is set to return to Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland from July 25-28, 2024. This marks the first time in eight years that the prestigious tournament will be held at this venue, which is widely regarded as one of the world's finest golf courses.
Carnoustie will be hosting the Senior Open for the third time in its history, having previously hosted in 2010 and 2016. The course is renowned for its challenging layout, particularly its closing stretch of holes, which is considered one of the toughest in the world.

Upcoming: Paris Olympics
The golf tournaments at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 1 to 10 August at Le Golf National in Guyancourt, featuring a total of 120 players (60 per gender) across two medal events. The golf qualification pathway and format for Paris remain the same as the previous two editions with 60 players qualifying for each gender-based event over a four-day-long, 72-hole individual stroke play tournament. The men's event will play first on 1 August with the women's side scheduled to occur six days later.
