Good Morning,
This week in the golf world has been a rollercoaster, full of unexpected turns, high-profile misses, and remarkable comebacks. The British Open at Royal Troon has especially been a stage for drama and excitement. Tiger Woods, despite missing the cut, remained optimistic about his future and the lessons he can learn about his physical limitations. This miss marks the end of his season, leaving fans and critics debating his future in major tournaments.
Rory McIlroy also faced disappointment, extending his major winless streak to 11 years after a rough start that led to missing the cut. Joining him on the sidelines are Bryson DeChambeau and other notable golfers who couldn't keep up with the challenging conditions at Royal Troon. Meanwhile, Shane Lowry has taken the lead, managing to maintain his composure and extend his advantage despite the windy conditions that have plagued the course. His humorous response to being a good front-runner and his recovery after a brief lead loss due to a rules controversy highlight his resilience.
In the LPGA, Chanettee Wannasaen made a strong impression at the Dana Open, taking the lead with a stunning birdie-eagle finish. Defending champion Linn Grant and China's Xiyu Lin are close on her heels, promising an exciting weekend ahead. Lexi Thompson, playing in what might be her final full schedule season, made the cut, much to the delight of her fans.
The Barracuda Championship saw Mac Meissner lead with an impressive 16-point round, while Rico Hoey flirted with a 59 but settled for an 8-under 63. This modified Stableford scoring system tournament is heating up with birdies galore, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
On the Korn Ferry Tour, Cooper Dossey emerged as the leader at the Price Cutter Charity Championship, holding a one-stroke advantage into the weekend. His journey reflects the competitive spirit and anticipation that makes golf so thrilling.
Amidst these tournaments, the Paris Olympics are on the horizon, with golfers like Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood shifting their focus after missing the cut at the British Open. Joost Luiten's frustration with Olympic officials highlights the passion and stakes involved in international competitions.
As the weekend progresses, all eyes will be on the leaders, the conditions, and the potential for upsets. With the British Open, the Dana Open, and the Barracuda Championship all in full swing, golf fans are in for a treat. Whether it's the battle for the Claret Jug, the quest for LPGA glory, or the excitement of the modified Stableford scoring system, there's no shortage of action and stories to follow.

The Open - PGA Tour - Royal Troon Golf Course, Troon Scotland
On Friday the second round of The Open Championship at Royal Troon Golf Course in Scotland saw challenging conditions as strong winds swept across the course, causing scores to soar.
Shane Lowry maintained his composure and extended his lead, carding a 2-under 69 in the worsening conditions. He now sits at 7-under par overall, holding a two-shot advantage heading into the weekend.
Tied for second place at 5-under are Justin Rose and Dan Brown, both of whom had to go through Final Qualifying to earn their spots in the tournament. World No. 1 and Masters champion Scottie Scheffler is in a tie for fourth place, having carded two consecutive rounds of 70 to finish at 2-under par.
The difficult conditions led to several high-profile players missing the cut. Most notably, Tiger Woods will not be playing on the weekend after shooting 14-over par. Rory McIlroy, who struggled with a disastrous opening round of 78, also failed to make the cut despite his efforts in the second round.
The cut line proved to be a significant challenge for many players. Some, like Scotland's Robert MacIntyre, managed to fight their way into the weekend despite early struggles. MacIntyre made two triple bogeys early in his round but rallied to shoot 4-under on his last 14 holes.
