Today’s Top Golf News in Two Minutes

Good Morning,

Hey everyone, grab your golf clubs (or just your favorite chair) because we've got a lot to unpack from the golf world Friday! From upsets and breakthroughs to tactical prowess, the greens have been anything but quiet.

Starting with the 2024 Chevron Championship, it's been a tournament of surprises. Defending champ Lilia Vu, along with runner-up Angel Yin, had to bow out due to injuries. Meanwhile, a new wave of talent is leading the charge with South Korean rookie Jin Hee Im and Thailand's Atthaya Thitikul sharing the top spot at -8 under. Unfortunately, big names like Lexi Thompson and Danielle Kang missed the cut, shaking up the leaderboard and proving once again that in golf, anything can happen.

Over on the Korn Ferry Tour, 15-year-old phenom Miles Russell made history as the youngest to make the cut. This kid's shooting stars with his 5-under 66 performance, and despite being six shots behind the leader, he's definitely one to watch.

In the pro leagues, there's buzz around LIV Golf as top-ranked amateur Gordon Sargent turned down a PGA Tour card to stay in school. It's a move that has everyone on their toes, especially with LIV looking to scoop up fresh talent.

The RBC Heritage has been nothing short of a nail-biter. Collin Morikawa, despite struggling with his swing, managed to scramble his way to share the lead, all thanks to some last-minute swing tweaks. Ludvig Åberg, the disciplined rookie, isn't far behind with his precise iron play. And don’t forget Jordan Spieth, who despite a wrist scare, is hanging tough and making his presence felt on the leaderboard.

At the Corales Puntacana Championship, Wesley Bryan, better known for his YouTube antics, is proving he's not just a digital sensation but a serious contender, leading the pack with an impressive under-par performance.

Meanwhile, at the Invited Celebrity Classic, Thomas Bjørn is showing the pros how it’s done with a bogey-free round, while celebrities like Tony Romo bring some extra star power to the fairways.

And just when you thought it couldn't get any more intense, Arnold Palmer’s green jacket was reportedly among the high-profile items stolen from Augusta National. Yes, that’s the jacket! It's since been recovered, thanks to an FBI sting, but talk about a hole-in-one for drama!

Stay tuned, folks. Whether it’s breakthrough performances or off-the-green headlines, the world of golf is serving up some serious excitement this weekend.
