Good Morning,

As you know, the 2024 Sony Open in Hawaii is currently in progress at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii. As of today, January 13, 2024, the tournament is at its midpoint, with Carl Yuan, Ben Griffin, and Keith Mitchell sharing the lead at 8-under par. The projected cut for the tournament will be determined after the completion of the second round, which is expected to conclude today. It is anticipated that only the top 60 players and ties will secure a spot for the weekend rounds based on previous cutlines for the event.

Also at the Sony Open, there was almost a hilarious goof caught on camera. One golfer was nearly caught taking a leak behind a tree! And this happened even after the PGA Tour decided to add more loos on the course. Can you believe it? They made this move 'cause of John Rahm's suggestion. And the golfer who almost had his "private" moment public? People are betting it's Joseph Bramlett, all based on what he was wearing.

Meanwhile in Dubai, despite a quadruple bogey, Rory McIlroy managed to maintain a two-stroke lead at the halfway point of the Dubai Invitational with a 1-under 70. He finished the second round with a 10-under 132 overall at Dubai Creek Resort. Jeff Winther and Yannik Paul are tied for second place. McIlroy views the Dubai Invitational as a gentle start to 2024. If you’re wondering, McIlroy was debuting a Spider Tour X putter this week, which may or may not have helped his quadruple bogey (hit two tee balls into the water on the 8th hole and his fifth shot finally found the putting surface).
