Today’s Top Golf News in Two Minutes

Good Morning,

Another great day in the world of golf! From the fairways of the Chevron Championship to the greens of the RBC Heritage, there’s a ton to catch up on, so let’s dive right in.

Starting off with the LPGA, the Chevron Championship took an unexpected turn when Lilia Vu, the defending champion and a favorite for the title, had to withdraw due to a severe back injury that flared up right before her tee time. This wasn't just a minor hiccup; it's her third withdrawal this year, underscoring a troubling pattern that has her fans and fellow pros pretty worried. In her absence, Lauren Coughlin has stolen the spotlight, not just by leading after the first round but also because she’s got her husband caddying for her full-time now. Talk about a dynamic duo! Meanwhile, Nelly Korda, chasing her fifth consecutive win, is hot on Coughlin's heels after a strong start.

Over at the RBC Heritage, it’s a tale of resilience and fatigue. Scottie Scheffler, fresh off his Masters win, is showing signs of exhaustion but still managed to keep his remarkable streak of par or better rounds alive. However, it's J.T. Poston who's leading the pack, having shot an impressive 8-under 63 in the opening round. He's not just playing for himself either; he's got his newborn baby girl with him, proving maybe a good luck charm really does make a difference.

Meanwhile, on the Korn Ferry Tour, young Miles Russell is making headlines at just 15 years old! He shot a commendable three-under-par 68 in his debut, a performance that’s getting everyone talking. It’s not often you see someone that young mixing it up with seasoned pros.

Lastly, don't miss out on the latest from the Corales Puntacana Championship, where Wesley Bryan has taken an early lead, or the Invited Celebrity Classic, which just kicked off with a Youth Clinic aimed at getting kids into golf. There’s always something happening in golf, from up-and-comers making a splash to seasoned pros showing they’ve still got it. Whether it’s chasing records, managing fatigue, or just playing alongside your partner, this week has had it all!

Chevron Championship

Thursday at the Chevron Championship, several significant events unfolded:

- Lilia Vu Withdraws: Lilia Vu, the defending champion and world No. 2, withdrew from the tournament due to a severe back injury. This occurred just before her scheduled tee time. The Corales Puntacana Championship
